Happy Anniversary!

Monday was Aunt Attie and Uncle Beau's second anniversary and I didn't say so in my post so happy anniversary, guys!

This week was slower than normal because of little B's cold. We stayed in all day Monday and most of Tuesday. We even missed S&S. Late Tuesday afternoon we walked in the park with Marme. On Wednesday we left the house for most of the day and did errands. On Thursday we walked in the park with Jessica and then we went to playgroup where we made clay imprints of the babies' hands and feet. We had a blast! The little babies in our playgroup are growing up so fast. Little Aidan turned 6 months on Thursday! Yesterday we went to the park again and lil B fussed a lot--I think my walking is interfering with her napping so I need to rearrange my schedule a bit. Last night Aunt Katie and Uncle Peter babysat Betsy while we went to a party. Thanks, guys!

Betsy has discovered that she can now put her feet in her mouth. She rocks around on her back, holding her feet and taking turns putting each one in her mouth. She also has been rolling from her back to her tummy constantly.

Weekend Roundup

Here's a weekend roundup. On Friday B and I met Lisa F. for lunch at Juan's--B loves restaurants, especially ones with multiple ceiling fans. Papa Vic stopped by after work for his weekly visit. Friday night Betsy made her first visit to Bucktown to R&O's with Katie and Peter. That was my first post-Kat visit and it was just as I had remembered it--loud and delicious. B loved the Mardi Gras decorations that hung from everywhere and again the multiple ceiling fans. When we got home Peter and I put Betsy on a big blanket on the floor and she rolled from end to end and we had to rescue her a few times.

On Saturday we woke up and went to the Farmer's Market with Attie and Beau and ran into the Vaicius clan. Then P,B, and I went to Lauren's first birthday party at the Children's Museum. There were lots of cool things for B to look at. Then we decided to walk to the Riverwalk and the Aquarium. Betsy really loved the huge tanks with really big fish because she could follow them with her eyes. She also loved the jellyfish. After our day downtown we went to Attie & Beau's for wine and cheese--we are fancy folk. Saturday night we were wiped out after our day o' fun.

Yesterday we fed Betsy in her highchair for the first time. She spit out most of the cereal, but she liked being in the highchair! Later on Larry and Carroll came over to visit and brought us some yummy treats. Betsy blew bubbles the whole time and screeched. Later Attie, B, and I did some shopping and went to lunch at Siamese. Betsy has this fake cough thing that she does and I read that when babies are learning to make noises they often fake cough because it gets them lots of attention. She coughs all the time. Well, yesterday she did it a bunch and last night Peter and I noticed she had a runny nose. So the fake cough was a real cough! Oops--I felt so bad. This is her first cold. She fell asleep at 7 (very rare for her) and slept pretty soundly until about 5 when she started coughing more and I went to check on her. I changed her and rocked her and she fell back to sleep eventually. She's in a good mood today--playing with her toys and rolling all around. Looks like we're staying in today so my little boo gets better--it's sooo cold outside!

Betsy News

Being Betsy's Mom keeps me very busy since she has a very active social life. On Tuesday we went to S&S. On Wednesday we went to the Zoo with Lauren and Reed. Ellen brought us to see the elephants and we all got to feed them and pet them. It was awesome! Then I went to get my haircut and B hung out on my lap and was so good. I know this whole sitting on my lap thing won't work once she starts crawling so I'm enjoying it while it lasts. Yesterday we went to Music Class at the Parenting Center. It was a lot like Gym Rompers (which we missed on Wednesday because B woke up Tuesday night and I couldn't fall back asleep for a couple of hours afterwards) and B loved it. We hurried home because the weather was supposed to be awful, but it ended up not being too bad. Little B would not nap yesterday afternoon; I think she was protesting since we spent most of the day in the house. Last night I went to Pilates and when I got home P had made me a delicious dinner. He's such a wonderful husband and father. Betsy and I are so lucky.

Yesterday she kind of reached her arms up for me to pick her up and I was delighted. Last night right after we put her to bed I heard Betsy kind of whimpering and went in and she had rolled from her back to her tummy and was stuck! We flipped her back over. She did it again this morning when she woke up. She officially has 2 new tricks!

Weekend O' Fun

On Saturday we went to the Mid City Art Market with Aunt Attie & Uncle Beau then Attie and I took Betsy to the Zoo. Betsy loved the flamingos. Saturday night Katie C. made a delicious dinner--Betsy's first dinner party! Yesterday Betsy tried rice cereal and she really liked it and kept grabbing our arms to give her more and she opened her mouth wider than I've ever seen her open it! After breakfast we walked to get coffee. It was a gorgeous day. Today was beautiful too. Betsy and I spent a couple of hours at the Park--walking and checking out the ducks. This afternoon Betsy had her first pedicure--not really! I had a pedicure and Betsy went with me and sat in my lap and laughed and smiled and charmed everyone in the place!

More Mardi Gras Pics

Happy Mardi Gras!

Betsy was quite the trooper during the Mardi Gras weekend. We went to parades Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night, Sunday, Monday night, and this morning. She danced to the bands and when she wasn't smiling or sticking out her tongue she was fast asleep in her Daddy's arms.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a lovely morning with Daddy then off to Gym Rompers and to Krista's house. Betsy wishes everyone a wonderful Valentine's Day!

This is how Betsy greeted me when she woke up yesterday.

Here's Betsy sitting up in her stroller--we no longer have to use the infant carrier in it.

Sunday

Yesterday we went to breakfast with Jama, Pa, Bee, Taddy, Diane, Craig, Aunt Attie & Uncle Beau, and Aunt Katie & Uncle Peter. It was great to see everyone. Later we went to see two parades with the aunties and uncles and met up with B's pal Lucy. Betsy loved the bands and the floats, but unfortunately wanted to eat the beads. It was so nice to be outside on such a pretty day. Some pics:

Sick, Sick, Sick

I was sick all week. I didn't realize how hard it would be to take care of Betsy while feeling so awful. Luckily Peter was able to stay home from work some, Marme spent Thursday morning with us, and Aunt Attie and Uncle Beau took Betsy on adventures yesterday afternoon. I had no voice and couldn't nurse Betsy since I had to take pain meds and as a result my lil B has not been sleeping and has been really fussy. Today I got my voice back and I feel better. Since I had major cabin fever Peter, B, and I walked to Napoleon to watch some of the parades. It was nice to get out, but after I got home I was exhausted. Betsy and her Daddy have been napping for over 2 hours. I hope things are getting back to normal and she'll get back to sleeping through the night. It has been rough! Here are some pics from the week:

Mardi Gras is Coming! Yay!

Here's a rundown of the rest of Betsy's week. On Tuesday we went to Snuggles & Struggles. On Wednesday we started Gym Rompers and since the kids were much bigger than little B we're going to try the Metairie class next week. All of the kids were crawling or walking so we need a class that has more tiny kids. On Thursday we had playgroup at Caroline's. Thursday night Mom, Attie, and Katie came over for a pizza party and Betsy loved all of the attention. On Friday Betsy went with me to the dr. and was very, very good. Afterwards we met up with Krista, Lauren, and Miss Sandy for coffee and a crazy dress sale at a hotel in Kenner--an hour wait to get in, but there were some nice dresses. I bought Betsy a Saints dress for next season. We went to Lakeside and Krista picked out everything for Lauren's new room since the new baby will move into Lauren's room. We went to Philip's sixth birthday party yesterday. There were ponies and a petting zoo with goats and pigs and sheep--Betsy loved staring at them. Last night Papa Vic and Bee watched Betsy while P and I went to Krewe du Vieux. I'm really excited about Mardi Gras, especially since last year I was on bedrest and only went to one parade. I have Betsy's costume ready, but it'll have to be pretty chilly for her to be able to wear it.

We've got to go get ready because we're going to brunch with Momma Lady and Grandpa.
